Pocketful of Sunshine

Hello Stampers!  A good friend of mine has a daughter who recently had surgery.  I decided that I wanted to put together a basket of things to cheer her up!  I remember when I was in San Diego on the Stampin' Up! incentive trip, and one of our pillow gifts was a box of sunshine!  Everything in the box was yellow!  We had twinkies, peanut M & M's, freeze dried pineapple, etc.  So that is what I decided to do for her!

I found a basket and started shopping!  I got peanut M & M's, some little tubs of cookies that were yellow, some bookmarks to color, etc.  Of course I had to make a card too, so this is what I came up with:

I used the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set.  Such a fun set!  The sunglasses are popped up and of course there are some rhinestones on them to bling them up!  Hopefully this will do the trick for her once she comes home from the hospital!

Did you hear? Did you hear?

Hello Stampers!  Did you hear the fabulous news???  I earned the Stampin' Up! trip to Alaska!!!  Thank you so much to all of my customers and team members who have made this possible!  I can't believe it!  Two years in a row!  Now the pressure is really going to be on to get the cruise to the Greek Isles!

I was trying to come up with a clever way to tell my husband that I earned it, and all I kept coming up with was making him a card!  So that's what I did!

 For the front of the card I used the Labler Alphabet stamp set.  I love that set because you can create any word you want super easily!  I made the suitcase with just a rectangle of cardstock the size I wanted.  I cut two squares from a darker cardstock and cut them diagonally to go on the four corners.  Then I used a corner rounder to round them off.  The handle was fussy cut.

For the letters inside I used the Large Letters Framelits.  I used stickers that aren't Stampin' Up! (I'm an avid scrapbooker so I have tons of stickers!) and the last page is simply the trip itiniary that I printed out!

Solar Eclipse

Hello Stampers!  It's finally here!  Today is the solar eclipse day!  I will be off playing with family and friends today, but I wanted to share with you a card that I made for today!

I used the Lovely As A Tree stamp set.  I love that set and it has been around for what seems like a hundred years!  It is just so versatile!  My circles for the sun and moon are 1 3/8" and 1 1/2".  The background has simply been sponged with Night of Navy and Garden Green inks.

Monogram framed art

Hello Stampers!  Every month I take a class at a local craft shop where we do a project using our Silhouette machines.  These are e-cutter machines.  This month we started a new series of framed art pieces to go into shadow boxes.  Here is what we made this month:

 Of course, this picture doesn't do it justice!  It is so pretty.  The flowers are all cut out separately as well as the leaves behind the flowers.  

Don't you think these would make great wedding gifts?  Love them!

Summer swaps

Hello Stampers!  I'm out of town for a few days so I don't have anything new to share today!  My youngest daughter moved into her new college apartment on Saturday, and my oldest daughter moved about 4 hours away to start her first teaching job!  She is super excited, and so am I, and she asked me to come help her set up her classroom.  So I'm currently out of town and will return this week.

August card & techique class

Happy Birthday to me!

Hello Stampers!  Today is my birthday!  And it's a big one!!!  When my family asked me what I wanted to do today, I said I want to go out to eat and I really just want to stay home and make cards!  There aren't many people who love their job enough that that is what they want to do on their birthday!  I feel so blessed and lucky!
