Hello Stampers! You know, for it being my summer vacation, I sure spend a lot of time waiting for my vacation to start!!!
Welcome to My Digital Studio Tuesday anyway! I don't have a fancy project for you today, instead I wanted to show you how My DIgital Studio has become the go to program in my house. My daughter Amie recently had to write a poem for school. She chose to write one about a very good friend of the family that we recently lost. Evie was the mother of Amie's piano teacher, Ruthann. We have become very close to them over the last two years. When Amie showed the poem to Ruthann, she asked if we could get it to fit on an 8" X 10" piece of paper so she could frame it.
Amie was excited, came home, and was having a really difficult time in Word trying to get the poem to fit on one page and still decorate the page a little bit with clip art. So, I told her to give My Digital Studio a try! Here's what she came up with:
Nothing fancy, but it didn't take any time at all for her to get it to the size she needed, plus add a small border of purple flowers, which was Evie's favorite color too!

Hello Stampers! I decided to bring in a guest blogger today! My daughter, Casie, wanted to make a thank you card for her favorite high school teacher. She said she gets tired of giving people cards and then they ask her "did you make this?" and she always replies, "no, my mom did." So she decided she was going to make this one herself!
Don't you think she did a good job? Can you see all of the bling that she added to the center of the flower? Very nice!
I'm so glad that this stamp set, Mixed Bunch, will be in the new catalog with it's matching Blossom punch!!!
Hello Stampers! I wanted to show you some framed art that I made for end of the year gifts.
This first one is for my good friend Alene that I have worked lunch bunch with for years! She recently redecorated her spare bedroom in gray and yellow!
This one was for the teacher that I have worked with for three years now, Linda.
On a personal note, today was another busy day around here! This afternoon was my daughter's baccalaureate. It was such a wonderful service. The kids did a fantastic job!
It makes me cry to see her in her cap and gown! I'm going to be a wreck at graduation!!
And tonight was my preschool graduation! It was a great year, but I LOVE my summers!!!
I know I promised you before that I would start showcasing retiring stamp sets, but I promise, alright, I will try really hard to start that tomorrow! Life is just getting in the way!!!
Hello Stampers! Man have I ever been busy lately! Why does it seem like when it rains, it pours? Yesturday was my girl's last day of school, my last day of work, and my annual Hostess Appreciation Party!
For my Hostess Appreciation Party, I really enjoyed pampering my hostesses! However, I totally forgot to take any pictures! They got to make a card and play with all of the new 2012 - 2014 in-colors! Which that means they got to use the new stamp pads!
At first, I wasn't too sure of these new colors, but after we made this card, I love them! We used the Raining Flowers stamp set for this card. We stamped the flower twice, and cut the middle out of the second one. It is popped up with dimensionals and then a pearl jewel placed on top! How fun is that??? Nearly everyone commented that they loved the new stamp pads, and one even said she was going to replace all of her stamp pads with the new ones and give her old ones to her granddaughter!!!
What is the difference in the new stamp pads you ask? They are made of foam and they ink up the stamp so much nicer and easier. You don't have to tap down hard and twist the stamp to get a good coverage. Just wait until you try them, you will understand!
The other card that we made last night was this fun card!
I have seen this double embossing folder technique on a couple of blogs, so I decided I needed to give it a try! I like to pamper my hostesses by having them make cards we wouldn't normally make in classes or clubs! I think this card just turned out beautiful, and they got to pick which color they wanted for their ribbon and card!
Since my Hostess Appreciation Party was called Chick's and Chocolate, we had chocolate cookies, chocolate pound cake, and chocolate candies! Plus everyone got to go home with a chocolate cupcake in a jar, plus the BRAND NEW CATALOG!!!
On a personal note, yesturday was the last day of high school for my daughter Casie! I can't believe how fast these four years have gone! See what our neighbor gave her to celebrate her last day:
Our neighbors are some of the sweetest neighbors you could ever ask for! Thanks for making her last day special!

Hello Stampers! Look at what I have been working on lately:
This Friday is the last day of school for both my daughter's and me! So, today I delivered all of the teacher gifts! I usually do a basket of something fun for them to sit in the office and everybody to enjoy. Then I also do gifts for their current teachers as well as favorites from past years. This year I made 23 cupcakes in a jar! What is that you ask?
You take a cupcake and cut it in half. You place the bottom half in a jar and add a layer of homemade buttercream frosting! YUM! Then you place the top of the cupcake on and add more yummy frosting and top it with sprinkles! How fun is that????
Then we added a cute little card on top that opens up with the sentiment on the inside and tied on a plastic spoon! Really easy! Good thing, because tomorrow I have to make some more!!!
I used the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (113439) with the Scallop Circle #2 die (113469) which is retiring soon so you better order it fast before it's gone!!!
The cupcake on top was done with the Cupcake Builder punch (121807)! So glad it is sticking around!
