12 Weeks of Christmas is coming!

Hello Stampers! Sorry for the gap in posts again!  I guess it doesn't help things if I write the posts but then forget to schedule them!

I just love Christmas!  It is never too early to start thinking about Christmas!  I have been frantically making things for the holidays to sell at my upcoming craft fairs.  My first craft fair is October 7th and 8th at Arrowhead Country Club.

My Digital Studio downloads and project

Hello Stampers!  I have to say that I was really disappointed when Stampin' Up! retired the bat punch.  It was so fun to make cards and scrapbook pages with!  Well, if you have My Digital Studio, the downloads that you purchase, never retire!

Here is a card that I made using My Digital Studio and one of their card templates.  The card was all designed for me, all I did was change the color of the ribbon and change the font on the greeting.  Don't you just love the bat punch?  I love it that you can change the size of the punch too!

Big Shot Class

Hello Stampers!  I have decided to bring back my Big Shot classes!  Every month we will hold a class that will focus on a single die, embosslit, letterpress plate, embossing folder, or sizzlit.  We will be making three items using that die.  The featured die will be included in the cost of your class, so the cost of the class will vary each month depending on die.

This month's class will feature the Spider Web embossing folder (120889).  Here are the items we will be making:

Punch art Elephant card

Hello Stampers!  I recently hosted a swap for my upline/sideline/downline with the theme "anything animal".  The cards I received were amazing!

 This is a super cute one that was made by Alice Marie.  Her card is very similar to a card that I made for my daughter Amie's birthday back in 2009 in this post.  Love it!

Ornament punch christmas card

Hello Stampers!  You may remember me talking about my New Catalog Premiere that I held in August.  Today I wanted to show you one of the cards that we made.

 I wanted a card that was very fast and easy to do, but I also wanted to get the Letters to Santa designer series paper (122349) in the hands of my customers.  They seemed to all have a blast trying to figure out the combination of the different designs they wanted on their card.  The ornaments were punched out using the Ornament punch (119847).

They could also decide if they wanted to use the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (113439) and the Petals-a-plenty embossing folder (116824) on the background of their card or not. 

And since I tend to put ribbon on probably 90% of every project that I do, I decided that a simple knot was appropriate for this card.  I love ribbon!  Don't forget that I am hosting another ribbon share right now.  You get three yards of each of the 3 ribbons in the Holiday mini catalog for only $9!

Fun fold Christmas tree card

Hello Stampers!  Today I wanted to show you the other Christmas card that I made for my organized Christmas swaps at Convention.

 This is a fancy fold tree!  I used four different sizes of squares cut from designer series paper.  They are then layered on top of each other before adhering to card.  I showed my downline how to make these at our shoebox swap this month also.

The sentiment is stamped from the Christmas Greetings stamp set (115448).  I also used the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (113439) and the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder (116824) for the Riding Hood Red background.

Reindeer punch art card

Hello Stampers!  When I went to Convention earlier this summer, I entered two organized Christmas card swaps.  This was one of my cards that I made:

 Isn't he cute?  He was pretty easy to make.  Here are the punches that I used:

Extra-Large oval punch (119859), Snowflake punch (119852), Boho Blossoms punch (119858), 1/2" Circle punch (119873), Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack (118309), and Heart to Heart punch (119881)

I used the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (113439) with the Framed Tulips embossing folder (121809) for the background.

SPOOKY Fabric banner

Hello Stampers!  My mom was in town for a few days, and I love to come up with little projects for us to do together while she is here.  This time I decided we would do a Halloween decoration.  I found these adorable fabric banners on various blogs an knew this was the project for us!

 Isn't it fun?  This one is mine.  You can click on the picture to see it bigger.

 This one is my moms.  We made the basic banner the same, but we did our embellishments differently.  Here are some close-up shots of my banner.

Since Stampin' Up! doesn't have any Halloween fabric, we had to buy it someplace else.  We did however use the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (113439) and several dies to make them.  We cut the pennants out with the retired Pennant die (113483).  The letters were cut from the Serif Essentials Alphabet dies (113464) and layered on the largest scallop circle from the Scallop Circle #2 die (113469). 

We used some Stampin' Up! ribbons, both current and retired, and some others that we found.

Downline witch hats

Hello Stampers!  Today was my downline meeting and I love to make fun things for my group! 

 These are the candy holders that I made!  Aren't they cute?

I saw these on Michelle's blog and knew that I had to make them!  They weren't too hard thanks to my Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (113439)!  The dies I used were the Petal Cone die (121810), Scallop Circle die (113468), and the Two Tags die (115954).  See the knot tied on the right hand side?   That is the handle to pull to open up the candy door on the bottom!

One of the gals in our group, Carol, her husband passed away from cancer.  Every year she heads a team in their annual walk and she makes thank you cards to give to everyone who walks with her or donates money.  We decided to help her out making her stack of cards this year! 

 
We teamed together at the end of our meeting today and cranked out 50 of these cards for her to use!

All in the Family 1" X 8" Cellophane bags

Hello Stampers!  If you have been reading my blog for awhile, you know that my second job is as a preschool teacher's aide.  This job is fun and just makes me laugh!

On the first day of school, I like to make my students a little something for them to take home.  This year I made M & M bags using the new 1" X 8" Cellophane bags (124134) from the Holiday mini catalog.  I personalized each of them using the All In The Family stamp set (113488) and I put their names on them and colored the hair to match theirs.

 Aren't they fun?

I like to share stories with you too of some of the funny things the kids say throughout the year.  Last week as we were walking down to the restrooms, one little boy says to me "Ms. Dina, if I go potty while standing on one foot (he demonstrates by holding one foot up behind him) I potty all over myself.  But if I do it with both feet on the ground, it goes where it is supposed to go".  What do you say to that besides "By all means then please keep both feet on the ground!"

Last Friday one little girl goes down on the floor during class.  She puts her hands and feet on the floor with her hind end sticking up in the air.  She says "I just farted in my pants", then she screams "Fire in the hole!"

This is going to be a LONG year!!

Sparkle & Shine wheeled Christmas cards

Hello Stampers!  A couple of months ago, I taught how to use Stampin' Around wheels at my downline meeting.  Each person wheeled a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Real Red ink and the Sparkle & Shine jumbo wheel (116542) and was told to take it home and make a card using this piece of cardstock.  They brought them back to the next meeting.  Want to see some of them?

 I believe this is the one that Karen made.  I love the little snowmen stamped inside the Ornament punch (119847).

 This is the one that Anne made.  The Eyelet border punch (119853) makes it look so fancy!!

 Alice Marie made this one.  Don't you love the Christmas tree made using the retired Photo Corner punch?

Holiday Blockheads Class

Hello Stampers!  I have this super class coming up that I can't wait to tell you about!  It's called my Holiday Blockheads Class!

At this class we will be making three holiday blockheads.  Want to see them?

 Aren't they adorable?  The cost of this class is $25.  For this price, you will receive everything needed to walk away with these 3 super cute decorations!  Each block is 3" high.

Each block is covered with textured cardstock that has been embossed with different embossing folders.  They are all super cute and you just have to see them in person!

My class will be held both on Thursday, October 13th at 10:00 a.m. and on Thursday, October 13th at 6:30 p.m.  Please RSVP for this class on or before Wednesday, September 28th so that I have can your supplies ordered and ready for you.
