Christmas In July

Hello Stampers!  Last Sunday was my Dink It Up! downline meeting.  I like to give them challenges once in awhile where I have them make a card using certain items.  For this month, they rolled the Sparkle & Shine wheel (116542) on a piece of cardstock and were told to bring it back on a card!  They did a great job! 

 This is the card that I made.  Did you notice the new border punch on the top of my wheeled image?  It's not exactly a border punch.  I punched the Blossom Bouquet Triple layer punch (122464) several times and just lined the image up along the back top of my cardstock!  I like the look it gives!

I used the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (133439) and my Perfect Polka-Dot embossing folder (117335) for my background. 

The sentiment is from the new Petite Pairs stamp set (122495).  I find myself grabbing for that stamp set a lot!

Happy Birthday Steamboat Willie!

Hello Stampers!  Have I mentioned before that I am a Mickey Mouse fanatic?  I just love everything Mickey!  Well, today marks the anniversary of Mickeys first cartoon movie, Steamboat Willie!  That was back in 1928!   Well, since I love Mickey, I decided to make him a card to celebrate his big day today!

 Isn't this fun?  I actually CASE'd the idea of this from a 6 X 6 scrapbook page I had seen. 

I like the way it is so simple.

The designer series paper is from my Brights patterened paper stack (117155).  The circles I used were the 1 1/4" circle punch (119861) and the 3/4" circle punch (119873).

The birthday sentiment is from my new favorite stamp set, Petite Pairs (122495).

I hope this inspires you to go make a Mickey card today too!  If you do, leave me a comment!  I would love to see it!

Beyond the Garden fancy fold card

Hello Stampers!  Today I wanted to show you the last card from my latest swap.

 This cool card was made by TIna.  This card uses an entire piece of 8 1/2" X 11" piece of cardstock.  It is folded in half both ways and then the top two corners are each folded down to form the pockets. 

Lay your cardstock out in front of you horizontally.  Fold it in half (5 1/2") and unfold, then fold it in half the opposite way (4 1/4") and unfold.

Fold the top left corner away fron you down to the score line.  Fold the top right corner toward you approximately 3".

Fold in half along the 5 1/2" score line away from you.  Then fold in half along the 4 1/4" line away from you. 

Tina cut pieces of the Beyond the Garden designer series paper (122342) from the Summer mini catalog to fit inside the pockets along with two tags from the Two Tags die (115954) using the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (113439).

Today my daughter Amie and I were invited to some special friends for lunch.  We decided that we wanted to make them a WOW cake for our dessert!  What do you think of it?

 I love the colors of this cake!  I guess in Stampin' Up! lingo it would be Tempting Turquoise and Pear Pizzaz!

Strength & Hope card

Hello Stampers!  I have another pretty card to show you from my last swap with my upline/downline/sideline. 

 This pretty card was made by Tina.  She used the Strength & Hope stamp set (118100) which is in the Summer mini catalog.  Remember, for each stamp set sold, Stampin' Up! will donate $2 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  What a great cause.  I have seen many great cards made with this stamp set.

I love the colors together on this card.  And what do you think about the ribbon?  I love the way she gathered it across the card.  It gives it such a frilly look.

Button Buddies pig birthday card

Hello Stampers!  I am in love with the new stamp set in the catalog called Button Buddies (122735)!  It makes the cutest cards!  They had several samples for us to see at Convention and I was glad because I had already choosen it as one of my free sets that I earned during Sale-A-Bration.

Today was my monthly Dink It Up! downline meeting, and I always make a free card for my gals.  So, I decided that I would use my fun new set!

 What do you think?  Isn't it adorable?  I did them in several different colors of buttons and grosgrain ribbon combinations.  I stamped the main image in Melon Mambo ink.  I stamped the pig again in Pretty In Pink and used the 3/4" circle punch (119873) to punch out around the snout and then placed the button on top of that with a mini glue dot (103683).  These layers gave the pig a 3D image.

This stamp set also has a baby rattle, snowman, pumpkin, snail, flower, cherries, and a vase of flowers.  Each image is made to be used with a button on it.  The medium sized buttons from our Designer Buttons packs are the best to use.  They come in Brights (119747), Subltes (119745), Regals (119744), and Neutrals (119743).  Be watching over the next few weeks for more samples with this fun set!

 

Free stamp set!

Convention Day 4

Hello Stampers!  Well, this post is about the final day of Convention.  We started off the morning in classes again and ended in our closing session. 

The six of us in my group were treated to VIP seating for the closing session which was amazing! We were in the third row right behind Shelli's family!  How fun is that???

 This is how close we were.

 Santa even came to visit us!!!  And I won a prize from him!  It was items from the upcoming Holiday mini catalog so I can't show you yet, but when I can it will "blow your socks off"!!  (Hint!  Hint!)

We were shown all sorts of holiday ideas from Shannon West and Carrie Cudney.  Wanna see some?

What a great final day of Convention!  If you want to join me next year, the dates have been announced as July 18 - 21.  And if you are considering it, you want to sign up with me before the end of this month because our starter kits are only $99!  A deal you just can't refuse!!!

Here I was trying to pack up my suitcase to go home. Can you see that my suitcase is already filled up and I still had all of this extra stuff to get packed away somewhere??  Can you say REALLY HEAVY SUITCASE!!

 

Convention Day 3

Hello Stampers!  For the third day of Convention, we had lots of great ideas given to us.  We had classes in the morning and our general session in the afternoon.  I wanted to share with you some of the great stuff we saw!

Convention Day 2

Hello Stampers!  Day 2 of Convention was amazing too!  We got lots of free stuff and saw some great ideas from Pam Morgan!

 Stampin' Up! always opens up Convention with an entertainment act.  These guys were great!

 They had two new walks this year, first time Convention goers (here are my downline Rickie, Anne, and Alice Marie walking across stage), and any of us who got a recruit within the last year. I got to walk across with Alice Marie for that walk!

 The display boards were amazing again!  They have thousands of cards up on display for us to get inspiration from.  Here are some more pics I took:

Convention Day 1

Hello Stampers!  I'm back home!  What a wonderful week I had in Salt Lake City at the Stampin' Up! Convention!  Every year I think they can't top the year before, and every year they do!!!  The inspiration, ideas, and motivation are so wonderful, but the best part is probably the socialization!  Just imagine being with over 3,000 people who share the love of stamping and papercrafting with you!

I also love seeing the friends again that I only get to see once a year.  I have made so many new friends over the years!  Can you believe that this was my 7th Stampin' Up! Convention!!!

When we arrived at out hotel, we were greeted with this fun sign.

 

Wednesday was a free day for us, so we spent the day swapping, touring the headquarters, and just relaxing and having fun.

 Isn't this a neat card that I swapped?  I definately see this in an upcoming Christmas card class!

 Here are some of my downline on the bus trip to the Riverton facility.  This is where the main offices are.  The building is amazing!  They have a whole area that is set up to provide ideas and inspiration.

 Isn't this a neat display.  I took a picture because I want to do this in my family room!

 This is our 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon up on the wall! LOVE IT!

 They have a whole room where the walls are dry erase.  We could write words of encouragement or ideas that we have.  This is Alice Marie writing her message!

 Every time you visit the campus you have to get your picture taken by the rock!  From left to right are my downline Anne, me, my roomie Sue, my downline Alice Marie, and my downline Rickie!

 After we got back to the Convention center, they had tons of displays set up containing our products and projects that they had made!  Such cute stuff!

Finally that evening, they had a Welcome Party for us.  There were games, prizes, demonstrator presentations, and lots of socializing!

 Here I am with my upline Jeri and my three downline that went with me this year!  What a great first day it was!
