Hello Stampers!  I hope that you are all having a great Memorial Day weekend!  Today we went to the Gypsy Caravan which is like this huge flea market/craft fair thing they do every Memorial Day.  We walked around outside for about three hours.  I bought these great rocks with my girl's names on them (my first Christmas gifts!) and got a great sunburn!  You would think that I would learn!

I wanted to show you a cute scrapbook page that we made at Leadership this year.  The color blocking is still such a popular thing to do in your scrapbooks.

 This page we made is an 8" x 8".  I usually scrapbook 12" X 12", but this idea is very easy to convert.  We used Old Olive designer series paper and the flower in the top right is punched out with the Fancy Flower punch.  The stamp set we used is With All My Heart.  Also notice the fun corduroy button in the bottom left side.  I just love those buttons!

Manhattan Flower glitter card

Hello Stampers!  I just love it when I have time to stamp and play with my fun toys, I mean stamping tools!  This is a card that I whipped up while playing with my Big Shot Die-Cut Machine.  What?  You don't have one yet?  You have got to get yourself one!  And when you purchase one from me, you get to take four of my Big Shot classes for half price!  That's right!  Each month I hold a Big Shot Class and we will make three items using the Big Shot.  What a great way to learn how to use your machine and have fun at the same time!

 Don't you love this card?  It is so elegant with all of the glitter.  After I embossed my vellum cardstock with the Manhattan Flower Impressions folder, I cut around the image.  I then used my 2 way glue and placed glue on all of the raised areas.  I then sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  That's it!  It doesn't get much easier!  I also used our pretty Organza White ribbon.  I sure hope that isn't one of the ribbons that will be retiring.

Candy bouquets, Mini Milk cartons, and Magnetic boards

Hello Stampers!  Boy am I ever glad I have finished my latest projects!  It's the time of the year for end of the year teacher gifts.  I'll show you what I decided to make this year!

These are the gifts that I made for the female teachers.  Sorry for the blurry picture!  Matching magnetic boards and mini milk cartons.  Aren't they cool?  I used up tons of the retired designer series paper that I had.  The magnetic boards are the aluminum step flashing that I got from the hardware store.  I covered them with designer series paper.  I also punched out cardstock with my Photo Corners punch to help the corners not be so sharp.  The magnets are cut from the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine and the Floral Fusion Sizzlits die and simply glued on magnet circles.  The holes for the ribbon were made with my Crop-A-Dile.

The mini milk cartons were cut from the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine and the Mini Milk carton die.  Yes, this die is still available for purchase!  Yea!!!  I made the carrier for them and decorated with designer series paper and more Floral Fusion flowers.  I filled one carton with Hershey's kisses and the other one with Tootsie Rolls.  Yummy!  I made 16 of these!

 These are the gifts that I made for the male teachers.  They really did look better in person!  I didn't think they would appreciate the milk cartons and magnetic boards, so I made them candy bouquets.  I wrapped each candy bar with retired designer series paper and glued them to mini popsicle sticks.  These were stuck in a styrofoam ball that was placed in the flower pot.  The peppermint patties were covered with cardstock punched with the Scallop Circle punch and decorated with stars punched from the Star punch.  I made 7 of these!

Medallion tile coasters

Hello Stampers!  Have you been looking for a practical gift that you can make in a snap?  Have I  got the answer for you!

 These coasters are so easy to make and they still produce a real WOW!  These are some coasters that I made up as a gift.  I used tumbled tiles from the hardware store.  You need to be sure you use tumbled tiles so that they don't have any type of finish on them.  I stamped the tile using the Medallion stamp set and a craft stamp pad.  I then sprinkled it with clear embossing powder.  Place them on a cookie sheet and place them in an oven set at 250 degrees for approximately 10 - 12 minutes.  When you take them out, they will be very hot!  Make sure that your embossing powder has all melted.  They will have a shiney look to them.  Let cool.  You can spray them with a sealer if desired.  I placed small squares of adhesive felt on the backside to prevent scratching on your furniture.

Manly Birthday cards

Hello Stampers!  Well, today is my hubby's birthday!  Happy Birthday Bob!

I wanted to show you all of the cards that we made for him:

 Here is the one that I made.  I love the new set in the Summer mini catalog, King of the Grill!  My husband loves to barbeque, and I knew I had to have this set the first time I saw it!  It will make really cute scrapbook pages too!  I also used the new Sqaure Lattice embossing folder.  When Bob pulled the card out of the envelope he said "Wow, that feels cool!" which is saying a lot coming from him!  The technique I used on this card is Spotlighting.  This is a great technique  for a stamped image that has a lot of detail, this way you don't have to color it all in!  We will be making this card at my July card class.

 Here is the card that my oldest daughter Casie made.  She used the stamp set All In The Family.  It is a great set for customizing cards.  She made all of us on the card including our dog Emmie.  Too fun!

 Here is the card that Amie made.  She used the retired stamp set And Many Mower.  It is really a fun set too!  For her background, she did the Polished Stone technique.  This is a fun technique using cotton balls, rubbing alcohol, and reinkers.

Graduation card and Candy Poster

Hello Stampers!  WOW what a busy time of year it is at our house!  I'm sure your house is the same way!  One day at a time is how we get through it!

Wednesday was our last day of preschool for the year.  We will have our picnic tomorrow and our graduation ceremony is Monday evening, and then I will be done!  We always do fun end of the year gifts, and I like to make little gift cards to go with them.  Here is the one I made this year:

I know, these sets are retired, but I think they are so cute!  The smiley face is from the stamp set Smile, and the graduation hat is from the set Tassle Time.

We also got a fun candy poster from one of our kids.  It was so neat that I wanted to share it with you!

 Thanks Hayden (and Nikki for making the poster!)!  Some people are just so creative!  I really will miss the kids!

Greenhouse Garden Pop-up card

Hello Stampers!  Did you know that today is You Tube's 5th Anniversary?  So to celebrate, I decided to make another video for you!  Today's video is how to make a pop-up card.  Here is the card that I am showing how to make:

Turtle birthday card

Hello Stampers!  Today is Beth's birthday.  Happy Birthday Beth!  She loves turtles, so I made her a turtle card.

Sorry my pic is a litle blurry!  Since I've already mailed the card, I can't retake the picture!

I found this turtle over on Kim's blog, thanks Kim for the idea!  I think it is really cute!  The turtle body is made out of half of a Top Note die with the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine.  I used my stylus and a ruler to make the cross-hatching on his shell.  The head is a 1 3/4" circle, the eyes are the 1" and 1/2" circle punches.  The legs are made from the Modern Label punch.  I also used the scallop edge punch for the strip under the shell.  Here's the catalog numbers for the items I used:

Now on a personal note, I didn't post yesturday because I was on an 18 hour trip to Santa Claus, Indiana!  My daughter Amie had a choir competition there.  We met at the middle school to board the charter buses at 5:30 a.m.  We had a 3 1/2 hour drive to Holiday World.  Have you ever been?  It is a combination theme park and water park.  Very cool!  The choir performed twice, once as a mixed 7th and 8th grade choir, and once as the 7th and 8th grade girls only.  The mixed choir won 2nd place and the girls choir won 1st place in their division with a perfect score!  They were so excited!  We arrived back home at 11:30 p.m.  What a long day!  Here is a picture of the entire choir posing with their trophys.

 

Candy bar covers

Hello Stampers!  I have another guest blogger today!  My downline Angela made these cute candy bar covers for a party she was having.

 Aren't they fun?  They are based on the same concept as the Kit Kat bar covers that I've showed before, only this is covering a Hershey bar.  All you do is wrap the designer series paper around the candy bar and then crimp the ends with the Crimper.  Sooooo easy!

Hello Stampers!  Have you seen the Sweet Scoops stamp set in the Summer mini catalog?  It is so cute!!!  When I received mine a couple of weeks ago, I just had to sit down and play with it!  I had some card kits left over from Karen's party when we made this card:

Ordering Retiring Colors

Hello Stampers!  I just wanted to post a quick note that if you are interested in ordering product in the retiring colors, you need to place your order as soon as possible.   Some of the colors are going fast.  If you're ordering card stock,  please note that if the regular card stock isn't available you will receive the textured card stock at no extra charge. 

The inkers and stamp pads will available in May, but may go into backorder status.  In June they will only be available while supplies last.
