Witch's Hats

Hello Stampers!  I have another Halloween goody for you!

They are witch hats!  They have a mini peanut butter cup in them!  They are super easy to make too!  Thanks Tamarra, tamarrastamps.typepad.com, for the great idea!

I modified her directions just a tad.  The cone part is a 4" circle cut in half.  Place your stick strip around the curved part of the circle and up one side.  Adhere the curved part around the upside down peanut butter cup. The bottom is a scallop circle attached with a pop up glue dot.  I left a small ring of the peanut butter cup wrapper showing to look like a hat band.  I used the Cast-A-Spell designer series paper.

Tutorial Tuesday - Origami Christmas Tree

Hello Stampers!  Well, I had a couple of you ask for directions on how to make the Origami Christmas tree that was on my card that I posted on Friday.  So, here it is!  It is really easy and quick to make!

1 - Start out with four squares of designer series paper sizes 3" X 3", 2 1/2" X 2 1/2", 2" X 2", 1 1/2" X 1 1/2".  I used Merry Moments designer series paper.

2 - Take each square and fold it in half diagonally.  Unfold it and fold it in half the opposite way.  Use your bone folder to make your folds very crisp.

3 - Unfold again and now fold into a rectangle in one direction only.

4 - Keep it in the rectangle fold and turn it so that the fold is facing away from you.  Fold in the horizontal middle folds to meet in the middle.  Your previous folds should make this fairly easy to do.  Use your bone folder again to make crisp folds.  It will look like a triangle from above and will have two layers.

5 - Bring the top left angle down to meet the center.  Use bone folder to crease.

6 - Bring the top right angle down to meet in the center also.  Use bone folder to crease.

7 - Once all four pieces are completed, your pieces will nest together  to make your tree.

Adhere your tree to your card and decorate as desired.  I think they look very elegant!

Peppermint Spiders???

Hello Stampers!  In case you were wondering where I was all weekend, I spent the weekend in Louisville, Kentucky at my daughter's band competition.  Casie is in Color Guard.  Yea Oakville!  My mom went with me, and I was really glad.  It would have been a really boring weekend by myself, because I didn't get to spend very much time with my daughter at all, but my mom and I had a really good time!  Thanks mom for going with me!!!

Are you wondering what a Peppermint Spider is?  I have been seeing these cute things on people's blogs, and I decided that I just had to try making one!

Aren't they cute?  And they are super easy to make!  The body is two scallop circles with a peppermint patty in the middle.  The eyes are 1/2" circle punch and 1/4" circle punch. The nose is a 1/4" circle punch.  The legs are made with the Photo Corner punch, simply cut in half. 

If you would love to have some of these little guys, but you don't have all of the needed punches, I am selling these for $.75 each.  Just let me know if you are interested in some!

Christmas Card Friday!

Hello Stampers!  I have another Christmas card for you today!  This one I had a lot of fun making! 

Isn't it fun?  I have seen these on blogs before, so I just had to try one.  It is really very easy to make!  I will do a tutorial next week on it if I get enough interest.  Just leave me a comment and let me know if you are interested in directions. 

There is actually a tree trunk that is made from a Chocolate Chip word window punch, you just can't see it very well.  Here's the recipe:

Halloween Season!

Hello Stampers!  I have such a hard time when I sit down to stamp, trying to figure out what type of card I want to make!  I have so many ideas for Halloween cards that I want to try, but I'm trying to get a head start on my Christmas cards and do my Christmas card Fridays!  Also, starting in October, I'm going to be doing The 12 Weeks Of Christmas, where each week I will show a gift for you to make and give for Christmas!  Today, I picked another Halloween card!  I found a card similar to this on Splitcoast Stampers and I thought it was adorable!

Isn't it great???  And I love the googlie eyes on the bat!!!  How funny!  I also lightly sponged black all over the More Mustard cardstock pieces to give them more of an eerie feel.  Here's the recipe:

Sweet Stems

Hello Stampers!  I have another card to show you today that I did at a party earlier this month.

My hostess wanted flowers on the card, and I wanted to go with more fallish colors.  Isn't it pretty?  Don't the Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie look great together?  I love the little butterfly that we added in the middle!  He is just stuck on with a mini glue dot so that his wings can still move.  Here's the recipe:

Lil' Paws Halloween

Hello Stampers!  Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days.  It has been really sad around my house.  Remember me telling about how my dog Maddie has been sick, well we had to have her put to sleep last night.  She had completely stopped eating and her kidneys were failing.  It was a really hard thing to do, but she is in a better place now.

This was an adorable picture that we took of her earlier this year.  She was definately my baby!  Hug your pets close tonight, life is too short.

This is a Halloween card that I made last week.  I have been seeing on people's blogs how they make their build-a-bear die and dress it up in a pumpkin costume.  Well, I thought I could do the same thing with the Lil' Paws die bear too!  I stamped the pumpkin image from the stamp set Pumpkin Patch which is in the Holiday Mini.  I then punched it out with the 1" circle punch.  And guess what?  It fit my Lil' Paws bear just perfectly!  See for yourself!

Happy Bearthday!

Hello Stampers!  My sisters birthday was last week, so of course I had to make her a card!  Hi Val!  She is very into nature, camping, etc. so I love to use the Under The Stars stamp set on her cards!  Here's what I came up with this year:

Christmas Card Friday!

Hello Stampers!  It's Christmas Card Friday, so it's time for another Christmas card!

I love the way this card turned out! I wanted to make a card that mainly used designer series paper!  I have seen cards similar to this before on blogs, so I decided to give it a try!  I love the look of the filigree designer brads on this card!  Of course, it only took a couple of minutes to complete the card!  Very easy!  Here's the recipe:

Stamp set - All Holidays

Cardstock - Ruby Red, White, Holiday Lounge designer series paper

Stamp pad - Black, Ruby Red

Accessories - Filigree designer brads, Circle Fire rhinestone brads, sponge, Corner rounder punch

Triangle Box Tutorial

Hello Stampers!  Boy did I have a great day!  I got to stamp for most of the day and I got a TON of things made!  I started off making Halloween goodies, but then moved on to Christmas cards!  I can't wait to show you all of the fun stuff!  Today though, I want to give you directions on making a triangle box. 

A couple of days ago I showed you this fun box....

 

And today I made this fun box... 

Here's how:

 Start off with an 11 X 5 piece of cardstock.  Score it at 5 1/2".  Find the middle of each end and score to both sides of the center line, as shown by the dotted lines in the pic.

Fold on the score lines and your box comes together like this.

With the box folded together, punch holes through both layers on both sides.  This is to thread your ribbon through.  You do not even need to use adhesive on this box if you tie it together at the top!

Decorate as desired!  It's that easy!  On my witch's hat box I added a 2" strip of cardstock on the back bottom and cut the ends at an angle with the box.  I added a strip of ribbon to cover up the seam. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Sunflower card

Hello Stampers!  I can't wait until tomorow!  I have almost the entire day with nothing to do but play in my stamp room!  I'll show you what I come up with!

This is a card that we did in a party I did earlier this month. The party was with a Garden Club, so this card was perfect!  I made these sunflowers before on a basket that I showed.  These sunflowers are super easy to make!  The flower is simply the scallop circle punch and I placed a 1" chocolate chip circle in the middle.  Once the middle has been put on, simply cut the petals from the valleys into the middle circle.  It gives the flower some dimension.  The leaves are the 5 petal punch.  Here's the recipe:

Cardstock - Garden Green, Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip, White, Crushed Curry designer series paper

Happy Blogiversary and My Digital Studio!

Hello Stampers!  Hey, it's my 1 year Blogiversary!  Can you believe that I started my blog one year ago yesturday!  Happy Blogaversary to me!  Thank you to all of you who keep coming back for more inspiration!  It is because of you that I keep doing it!   That and that fact that I'm loving it and having a great time!

I had a chance today to sit and play with my new My Digital Studio today!  This is the new Digital Papercrafting software that SU! has recently come out with!  And you know what?  I LOVE it!  It is not just for making scrapbook pages, you will be able to make those plus cards, photo albums, calendars, and more!  And it is so easy to use!  I have never done digital scrapbooking before and I sat down and made this page

in about 15 minutes!  The software is very user friendly!  I am working on getting myself certified in the software so that I will be able to assist you and answer any questions that you may have concerning this product. 

As a SU! demonstrator, we were able to order this early so that we could play with it.  It will be available to you on October 1st!

I'll be telling you more info about this software over the next few weeks.  I'll also be showing you samples of items that I have made!

Halloween Swap

Hello Stampers!  This has been such a busy weekend that I feel like I need a weekend to recover!  I had my St. Louis swap club on Saturday.  After I got home we went furniture shopping for the basement.  We got home around 8:00 p.m.   Then today we were off again at around 11:00 and got home around 5:30!  That is a lot of furniture shopping!  We finally found a sectional that we liked for our basement.  We also bought a media stand for all of our television stuff!  I'm anxious to get it all now and get it situated! 

I mentioned that yesturday was my St. Louis SWAP club.  I am in a swap through Splitcoast Stampers.  We get together once a month and do a shoebox swap.

Our theme this month was Halloween.  This is the card that I took.  Isn't he fun?  His head is made using the Top Note tie with the Big Shot.  I just freehanded his hair.  His eyes are 1" and 3/4" circles.  His nose is a 1" circle.  The bolts in his neck are the Word Window punch and the 1/2" circle punch.  I sponged around the green pieces to make them stand out a little more.

Christmas Card Friday!

Hello Stampers!  Welcome to another Christmas Card Friday!

I thought this turned out to be a pretty card.  I CASE'd this card from www.ustamp4fun.com and changed it a little to make it mine.  I love the new stamp set Wandering Words in the Holiday mini!  And can you believe the perfectly matching designer series paper is from the Jackpot package!  I wanted something in Real Red but with a small design!  Here's the recipe:
