You can never have too many purses!

Hello Stampers!  I'm back!  Remember how I told you that I had injured my eye?  Well I went to the eye doctor on Monday morning.  I had something embedded in my cornea, and my eye had started to heal itself around the object!  They had to scrape my eye to get the object out!  They left me with exposed nerves and a very painful eye!  I even had to drive myself home from the doctor!!!  I could barely open it because it was very painful and watering like crazy!  I came home and went to bed.  He told me to do nothing for the rest of that day!  Finally, in the evening I was able to open my eye for about 4 - 5 seconds at a time, and it gradually got better.  This morning it was better, and the blurriness was going away.  Finally, this evening, it is fairly close to normal.  Every 4 - 5 hours I have to rest and close it for a while though.  I'm still on pretty heavy amounts of Advil too!  Never a dull moment!

I was just glad that I got to stamp again today!

Here is the card that I made today. Still trying to use up some of my retiring papers.  This cute purse is just a top note die from the Big Shot.  You can either use double sided paper or I cut two of them so that my flap could be a solid color.  Here's the recipe:

Happy Birthday Casie!

Hello Stampers!  I don't have much time to post today since it is my daughter Casie's 15th birthday!  We are having her family party tonight and there is much to be done still!  I also injured my eye somehow, and everything is blurry out of my right eye, which makes it difficult to type and even read what I've typed!   Never a dull moment!

This is the card that I made for her!  She just LOVES penguins!  This is a pattern that I received from a punch class that I'm in!  Isn't he just the cutest!!!

I'm off to get more work done!

Birthday party & more retiring!

Hello Stampers!  Well, tonight is my daughter Casie's 15th birthday party.  She had some friends over to spend the night and we went to a local Japanese restaurant for dinner.  It is the sort of restaurant where they cook your food at the table!  Casie wanted to go there so that she could dance when they played music for her! 

So here she is!  For any of you who know her, this is so unlike her!!!  She is usually fairly quiet and reserved, but this is the new her!!!

As we were getting ready for her party, she informed me that she didn't want any decorations!  As time got closer, she decided that maybe some would be alright!  Luckily, I had just gotten the pennant die for my Big Shot, and this was my time to try it out!  Her favorite color is teal, and her bedroom is teal too.  So, I made this banner in teal so that she could hang it up in her room after the party.  She loved it!!!

On to the retiring stamp sets.  Today's card uses the Great Grad stamp set.

Mother/Daughter class and more retiring

Hello Stampers!  Last night we went to our outdoor theatre again to see the weekly show.  We have season tickets and last night was Annie!  Although I have seen it performed there several times, it was still great!  It really helped that we knew the girl in the starring role this time!  Abby did a wonderful job as Annie!  My mother-in-law was still out of town, and Casie did not want to go to this one, so Amie got to bring along two friends.  They had fun!  Then the girls spent the night with us.  They had a contest to see how late they could stay up, and they claim that they made it til 3:45! 

For those of you who are wondering, Amie's test results have all come back negative so far, which is really good!  They are still waiting on a couple more, but x-rays looked good, and negative for Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis, etc.  Keep praying!!!

Tonight was my first Mother/Daughter stamp camp of the summer!  We made a couple of cards and

this really cute Ghirardelli chocolate holder!  This is simply a top note die folded in half with the chocolate stuck on the inside.

This cute swap uses the Happy Heart Day set.  This card is simply two pieces of cardstock the same size, both pieces scored at 1/2" and 1" from both ends.  It folds to make a shadow box card!  Cute!  This swap was from Tammy Potts.

This cute swap is by Sara Cimbaro and uses the A Little Birdie Told Me stamp set.  This card is paper pieced which is done by simply stamping your image a second time on designer series paper and cutting it out.  When cutting out, be sure to leave the black outline.  Too cute!!

In Color Quilt and more retiring

Hello Stampers!  Boy has today been a really long day!  I spent four hours this morning at doctor's appointments for my daughter, and we still don't anything!  She has been having pain in her ankles, knees, heels, and toes.  Today was seeing a specialist and more blood work and xrays.  Should know some results by Friday!  Then I raced to my own physical therapy for my shoulder.  Enough doctors for one day!

Tonight was my downline meeting.  I had this cute quilt card for them to make so that they had

a sample of the new in colors.  They also got a chance to use the Big Shot again!!!  And don't you just love the new polka dot ribbon???  Don't worry!  I will be doing a ribbon share soon on that one!!!  Love it!

Now for more retiring stamp sets.  Today I will focus on Heartfelt Thanks again.

This was a swap that I made a couple of years ago.  Isn't it funny to look back at how far you have come as a stamper over the last couple of years!!!  This one even showed up on Stamper's Showcase on the SU! website!

This was a card that I had for one of my classes.  This was using the baby wipe technique.

I can't remember where this card came from, but I think it was a make n' take that I did once.

Sunflower Basket and more retiring!

Hello Stampers!  I'm back!  I had a great time at my Mom's for a couple of days, and her Stamp Camp was a huge success!  There were 16 of us there happily stamping away and creating cute things!  I think all had a great time!  If you were at the camp and you are reading this, leave me a comment!  I'd love to hear from you!  The way to leave a comment is to scroll down to the end of this post and click on the word Comments.  It should be underlined.  Then it will let you leave me a comment! This is one of the items that we made at the Stamp Camp!  Isn't it cute???  The sides are from the Baskets & Blooms die cut with the Big Shot.  We then added a 5 1/2" X 8 1/4" piece of cardstock, scored at 2 3/4" from each side, in between the handles to form the basket.  The sunflowers are formed using the scallop circle punch, 1" circle punch for the center, and 5 petal punch for the leaves!  Here's the rest of the recipe:

Now for some more cards made with retiring sets.  Today I am focusing on the Wild About You stamp set!  It is an adorable set, and I'm not letting go of mine yet, even if it is retiring!

This cute card is one that I made as a swap.  I don't know if you can see it or not, but the lion's head is actually three layers!  I stamped it and cut them out separately so that the mane could be a different color from the face and body!  Too fun!

This card was a swap from Missy Brinkman.  I love that little penguin!

This swap did not have a name on it.  Too bad, because it is awful cute!!

Finally, this fun swap was from Miranda Thygesen.   The head on this lion was also done in three layers.  And the cut grass definately adds to the cuteness!

Happy Father's Day and still more retiring!

Hello Stampers!  A Happy Father's Day to any guy that may be reading this!  I hope you all got to spend some time today with your Fathers, Hubbys, or any other important man in your life!  We got up this morning and went on a family bike ride!  We rode about 5 miles, and by then it was very hot and humid and we had to call it quits.  My daughter Amie and I are actually leaving town this afternoon to head to my Mom's.  She is having a SU! stamp camp at her house tomorrow evening!  It should be fun!  I won't be posting anything until I get back though.

Hello Stampers!  Last night my girls and I went to our first show of the season at the Muny.  The Muny is our outdoor theatre here in St. Louis.  Every year we get season tickets.  Last night we saw 42nd Street.  It was pretty good.  It was very hot though!  Our heat index yesturday was 105 degrees!  WOW!

Possible swap and more retiring

Hello Stampers!  Well I spent the day trying to come up with some swaps for convention.  I figured since it is just over a month away, and I usually take 300 - 400 swaps, I should probably get started!

This is one that I came up with, and I just can't decide if I like it or not!  I have you remember, that I typically do 50 - 75 of each design!  I colored on my stamp to make my flowers different colors, and I glued a bead in the center of each flower.  It's kinda cute!  Let me know what you think!  Here's the recipe:

Quilt card and more retiring!

Hello Stampers!  I decided it was finally time to make one of the quilt cards that I keep seeing on people's blogs. So here is my try...

Isn't it cute?  And it was really easy!  All you have to do is punch out 1 1/4" squares of the paper you want to use.  Adhere these all on to a 5" X 3 3/4" piece of cardstock.  Run this through your Big Shot with the Top Note die, and your quilt piece is finished.  Here's the rest of the recipe for mine:
