Hello Stampers! Last night was my February technique class. We made three different items and used two different techniques.
The first technique we covered was embossing. This is a technique that a lot of people know, but we tend to get so caught up on other new techniques, that it gets pushed aside! This card used the Flight of the Butterflies stamp set from SU! We embossed the detail images on the butterflies. We also used the Stamp-a-ma-jig! Great tool when you are two-step stamping, it helps you get your images lined up exactly where you want them! Here's the recipe:
Stamp sets - Flight of the Butterflies, Inspired by Nature
Cardstock - Bashful Blue, White
Stamp pad - Garden Green, Pretty In Pink, Bashful Blue, Bravo Burgandy (craft), Night of Navy (craft)
Accessories - Bashful Blue grosgrain ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Clear embossing powder, heat gun
The second technique we covered was Baby Wipe Stripping. It is always a fun technique, with really cool results! It is messy though! Here's the recipe:
Stamp set - Inspired by Nature
Cardstock - Pumpkin pie, white, black, Glossy White
Stamp pad - Black
Accessories - Tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon, baby wipes, pumpkin pie ink refill, real red ink refill, tempting turquoise ink refill, large oval punch
The third item we made is going to be kept a surprise! You have to attend the class to get to see and make the third items!!!
Now on a personal note, every year for Valentine's Day, our daughters fix us two meals, usually a dinner and breakfast. Our dinner was tonight.
They always name the restaurant, make a menu, and a sign. They dress up, seat us at our table, and wait on us! It is a lot of fun! As you can see, this year we dined at the Love Bird Paradise. We ate Hawaiian Meatballs with rice and had Peanut Butter pie for dessert! They were even homemade meatballs! Sounds yummy doesn't it??? The older they get, the better the meals get! When they started this a few years ago we had to eat grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner and cereal for breakfast!!!
Tomorrow morning is our Valentine's breakfast! I can't wait to see where we are going to eat and what is going to be on the menu!!!
Happy Stampin' and TTFN!
