Kid's Stamp Camp

Hello Stampers!  This morning was my Kid's Stamp Camp!  I love to have these camps because the kids are always very excited about what I have for them to make!  They truly enjoy what they are doing and it shows all over their faces! 

This was our first project.  It is just a simple candy holder.  They thought it was very cool, especially since they got a Hershey's kiss or hug to put in it!!! 

It starts with a 4 1/2" by 1 1/2" piece of Pixie Pink cardstock.  It was scored at 1 3/4" and 2 3/4".  We used the Tag Corner Punch for all four corners.

They used the tag stamp from the SU! Happy Heart Day stamp set.  It was punched out with the Small Tag Punch and layered on top of Real Red cardstock that they punched out with the Tag Punch. 

They punched holes in the top of it with the 1/4" hole punch and tied a piece of 1/4" Real Red grosgrain ribbon in the top!

If you click on the picture to enlarge it, you can see little teeth marks all over the white piece of cardstock!  My dog Maddie decided that the first sample I made was really hers, so she helped herself!  I know, chocolate is poison to dogs, but tell her that!!!

This Valentine's card was the second project that they made.  Isn't it so cute!!!  They used the heart and the kangaroo stamps from the SU! retired stamp set, Toucan of My Love.  They really like it when they get to color in the image that they have stamped!!!

This Hershey bar holder was their last project.  Of course they thought the best part was that when you pull on the ribbon....

a Hershey bar pulls out!  Everyone seems to love making the 3D ladybug, so I thought it would be really cute with pink hearts as it's spots! 

The slider cover dimensions are 6" by 7".  It is scored at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".  You have to use sticky strip to adhere it together because it needs a strong hold.

The Pretty In Pink band around it is 2 1/2" by 6 1/2". 

We made the ladybug from the scallop circle punch and the small hearts are from the SU! Heart to Heart punch.  The ladybug head is a 1/2" circle. 

The ribbon slots are punched from the Horizontal Slot punch.  The ribbon length is approximately 25".  Just thread your ribbon through the holes, slide the candy bar into the holder.  Tie your ribbon into a bow on top!

I hold my Kid's Camps for those 8 years and older, unless they have previous stamping experience, and then I may go younger!  Let me know if you are interested in more information about them, or if you would like to buy a kit of supplies!  The kits are $10 each.

Free Card Friday!

Hello Stampers!  Happy Free Card Friday!  I know, it's really Saturday, but I didn't get my post done last night for the winner of Free Card Friday because I had bunko!  We went really late last night, it was about 11:00 p.m. when I got home.  How many of you are "old and moldy" like me and are in bed long before 11:00 p.m. typically!!!  I'm certainly not a night owl!!!

Baroque Motif thank you

Hello Stampers!  Boy did I get a lot done today!  I got to play in my stamping room ALL DAY, except when my hubby took me out to lunch!  I've got lots of great stuff to show you over the next few days!  Now  I want to show you a card that I made, using a notecard from the Current Inc. catalog as my

inspiration.  I thought that the stamp in the SU! stamp set Baroque Motif, would be the perfect flourish!  I really like the way it turned out!  And I love these colors together!  You could use this as a Valentine's thank you, or an anytime thank you.  Here's the recipe:

Birthday gift card holder

Hello Stampers!  Well, the kids are back to school again today!  And I'm home alone today to stamp!  Yesturday the kids had a great day playing in the snow!  We got 9 inches!!!  The kids measured

it several times in several places just to be sure!  Here they are making snow angels!  The snow wasn't wet enough to build a snowman, but they had a great time sledding down the neighbors hill!

Maddie didn't like the snow very well though!  She is the 'princess' and doesn't like her paws either wet or cold, so she had it rough!

Here is a gift card holder that I came up with yesturday!  Isn't it cute????  I got the idea of hinging two top note die cuts together from Andrea at www.andreawalford.com.  I love the SU! Simple Birthday Thanks set, so I put that on the front!  For the cupcake liner, I simply put my cardstock through the crimper! 

The back top note die is just covered half way up with another piece of designer series paper.  A gift card fits perfectly inside!  The whole thing will even fit into a medium sized envelope if you need to mail it!

Tutorial Tuesday Scallop Corner

Hello Stampers!  Well, I told you yesturday that we were getting snow, and we are still getting snow!  They have cancelled school for tomorrow again.  The best part about that is that I'm off tomorrow too!  I did get to stamp quite a bit today, and now I'm looking forward to getting more done tomorrow!  I'm trying to get stuff done for upcoming classes!

This card is one that I created today.  Actually, I CASE'd a lot of it!  I just loved the colors!  I found this on Andrea's blog at www.andreawalford.com.  That is also where I learned how to make these neat scallop corners that I'm going to share with you.  Aren't they cool looking???  They are easy as pie to do, here's how:

All you do is take your SU! scallop edge punch and turn it over.  Stick the corner of your cardstock into the punch, and carefully center it on one of the scallops, then punch!  That is it!  Try it and let me know what you think!!!

On my card, I scalloped the corners on both the white piece and pink piece of cardstock.  I thought it gave them an elegant finished look. 

Here's how I colored the flowers:

I simply stamped the flower from SU!'s Doodle This set.

  Next I used my SU! Watercolor Crayons and colored my flowers, in a striped fashion.  Then I took my blender pen and lightly blended the colors together.  I like this look.  Here's the recipe for the card:

Birthday Stamp-A-Stack cont.

Hello Stampers!  Happy Monday!  Wow, I could tell by the way the preschoolers were acting today that it was either Wild Wednesday, a full moon, or a major weather system was coming through!  Since today was Monday, and there wasn't a full moon, it had to be the weather changing, and sure enough, the snow started coming down at around 5:00 p.m.  They have already called and cancelled school for tomorrow, so the kids are very excited that they get to sleep in tomorrow!  Unfortunately, my day of being home alone and stamping all day has vanished into thin air!!!  Oh well, we have already planned a special lunch and an afternoon of home spa treatments!!!

This is another one of the cards that we made during my Birthday Stamp-A-Stack.  Don't you just love the dog driving the car????  I totally CASE'd this card from www.stampingaddict.blogspot.com.  I even loved the way that she cut the top off of this truck from SU! Loads of Love stamp set (now you recognize it don't you!!!) and made it a convertable!  What a cute idea!!!  The tires were made by punching a 1/8" hole in black cardstock and then using the 1/2" circle punch to punch around it!  The dog and presents were stamped on a separate piece of white cardstock, cut out, and attached behind the truck.  Here's the recipe:

Hostess Appreciation Night

Hello Stampers!  Well, last night was my hostess appreciation night! Every person that has either hosted a party or has had a chance to be hostess for one of my clubs during the last six months was invited!  Eight of them were able to attend!  We had a great time!  There was yummy stuff to eat, and two fabulous cards to make!  Since we weren't pressed for time, and these were experienced stampers, I had a chance to make more advanced cards.  We made a Surprise Pull Up card and a Spring Up card!  I also made gifts for my

hostesses!  These are little pencil holders/organizers for their desks or crafting tables.

They are made out of six 4" square coasters.  I used the Crop-a-dile to punch the holes for the ribbons.  The outside coasters are covered with SU! designer series paper.  Every box was different!  One side of the box has a clip to hold post it notes and another side has clips to hold a picture.  Don't you love the artwork that was included!!!  I gave my daughters eight pieces of paper and told them to draw pictures, and they did!

I also included a pen that matches with the designer series paper in the barrel and a bookmark that also matches!  My hostesses seemed to like them!

Here they all are stamping away!  Thank you again hostesses!  I really do appreciate it and I couldn't do it without you!!!  I just love to be around people who love creating as much as I do!!!

Happy Heart Day Valentine

Hello Stampers!  Today I wanted to show you another Valentine card that I came up with.  I'm trying to come up with several Valentine cards so that I can follow through with my New Year's Resolution.  My resolution is to send out and give more cards!  Can you believe it???  When my kids have birthday's people will ask them if they can see the card that their mom gave them, and they always have the same response "We don't get cards from mom!"  The poor babies!  Can you believe that I would make as many cards as I do on an annual basis, but I never get around to making them for my family!!!  There is just something wrong with that!!  So this year, it is going to be different!  I have already made my Valentine's card for my hubby, and now I'm working on some for my girls!

Kit Kat holder Tutorial Tuesday

Hello Stampers!  Alright, how many of you out there got the Wii Fit for Christmas?  I did and I have been making an effort to work out regularly!  I love doing the hula hoop!  I have now opened the advanced super hula hoop and I do it for 10 minutes!  Can you imagine hula hooping for 10 minutes nonstop????  And as you are hula hooping, the Wii guestimates your number of rotations!  Today I did 1731 spins toward the right and 1732 spins toward the left!!!  Of course I thought I was going to pass out when I got finished!!!  Send me a comment and let me know if you have the Wii Fit and what your favorite things are to do on it!

Todays tutorial is going to be on making this adorable mini Kit Kat holder!  I found this on Ann's blog at www.stampwithann.blogspot.  I changed mine for Valentine's Day.  I'm thinking about giving these to my preschoolers for Valentine's Day!  Here's how to make them:

1 - Cut a piece of cardstock to 8 1/2" X 2 1/2".

2 - Using your Word Window punch, punch a hole about 1 1/2" from one end. Fold cardstock in half.

3 - Stamp on front of outside and add scallop circle design on front.  I used SU!'s Happy Heart Day stamp set and colored it with markers.

4 - With cardstock folded in half, punch double rectangle punch to feed ribbon though.  Feed both ends through front, cross in back, and feed back through front holes on opposite side.

5 - A mini size Kit Kat slides perfectly into Word Window slot.

Open House

Hello Stampers!  Sorry I didn't post last night, but I was just so tired after my Open House.  Thanks to everyone that stopped by!  I hope you are enjoying your new catalogs!  Your wish lists are already really long aren't they?  I warned you!!!  I got my first order placed this morning, and I can't wait to get it!!!

Punch Bunch Club

Hello Stampers!  WOW what a day!  Early this afternoon my family decided to take me to the park to try to see some bald eagles.  They have all seen them in the last couple of weeks, and I haven't!  We bundled up (me more than the others!  Have I mentioned that I hate the cold?????) and set off for the park.  We walked along trails up the banks of the Mississippi river, but saw nothing.  The girls decided that it  it would be really fun to walk down by the river and skip stones.  So we slid down the steep hill, and I do mean slid, down to the river.  Here are the girls trying to skip their stones!  Did I mention that it was much colder down by the river???  I don't know if you can see it or not, but there is ice along the bank!

When we decided it was time to head back to the car, this was the path up the steep bank!!!  I did tell you that we slid down it right?  Well, let me tell you, I was one worn out lady by the time I made it to the top!!!  I was born to stamp, not hike!!!

After we got back and warmed up, I started getting ready for my Open House tomorrow!  The new catalog is out and I will have it available to all who want one!  I will also have retired stamp sets for sale, cards, card fronts, and a free make n' take!

These are the punched items that we made in this month's Punch Bunch!
