Team challenges & blog candy!

Hello Stampers!  I'm so glad that you stopped by today, and you will be too! I know that I have lost viewers with all of my sporadic posting, so it is time to get serious again!  I have a goal of posting each weekday starting today, through the month of September!  Do you think I can do it???  Leave me a comment so I know you are there!

What happens if I don't meet my goal?  Well how about some free stuff for my loyal readers!!!  Here's how it's going to work:  If you find a day that I haven't posted, and I get the entire day to post, but if you find a day that I haven't posted, Monday through Friday, just leave me a comment sometime the following day, and your name will be entered into a drawing for a free stamp set from my retired items.  So, you have 24 hours to leave your comment after a day that I forget to post, Monday through Friday!

Hopefully that makes sense!  So I guess you want to see what the first stamp set is that is up for grab!!

IMG_5283 It's the Happy You stamp set that was once a hostess set!

Now on to what this post is really about!  Every month on our team Facebook page, we have challenges.  We have a color challenge and a template challenge.  These are the cards from the template challenge a couple of month's ago:

Aren't they great cards?  In case you wondered, I have been trying to clean off my memory card from my camera, so I will be showing you some past pictures for awhile!

Well, that is day 1 blog post!  I'm on a roll!

Masculine card swap

Hello Stampers!  Not only was I in a Christmas card swap with my team and upline at Convenion, but we also held a masculine swap.  These are always good to do because I think masculine cards are hard to come up with!

The card that I made was the card that was featured as the project of the month in my August newsletter.

Here are the other cards that I received.

IMG_5247 Pat made this one.

IMG_5248 Laura made this one. Love how the little door opens up!

IMG_5249 Lisa made this one.

IMG_5250 Karen made this card.

IMG_5251 Paula made this one.

IMG_5252 Jeri made this one.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope this has inspired you to make some masculine cards!

Miss You Zoo Babies card

Hello Stampers!  Some of you may know that last weekend we took our youngest daughter to move her into her college dorm.  It was a fun day getting her room all set up and showing her all around campus.  She is attending the same school that my husband and I both attended!  And goodness how things have changed over the last 30 years!  And WOW do we feel old!

Anyway, I miss her something terrible already, so I went out shopping today to get stuff for a goody box to send her.  And of course, I had to make a card to stick in the box!  She is my daughter who loves elephants, so I figured I had to include one on her first card!  Here is what I made for her:

IMG_5260 I saw a card very similar to this on Stampin' Connection which is a demonstrator website that Stampin' Up! hosts.  It is full of thousands of project ideas!  It wasn't a miss you card, but since that's what I needed, that's what mine became!

I used the Zoo Babies stamp set and different shades of blue since that is her favorite color!

Now all I have to do is find a way to either send myself or at least hugs and kisses in the next card!

Mini Treat Bag Christmas card

Hello Stampers!  I am so excited to show you the Christmas card that I made for a swap at Convention!  I love the way it turned out!  It is a very unconventional type of card in unconventional colors!

IMG_4831 This is the outside of it!  It is made with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit  I used the Lucky Stars embossing folder after I had cut out the bag and put it together.  I punched trees out of our Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and the banner is from our Foil Sheets.

IMG_4832 Here is the card pulled out of the envelope!  I embossed the tree image with gold embossing powder.

I CASE'd this card from a similar one I saw online.  I just tweeked it a little bit and came up with this!

I'm so excited to start making Christmas cards!  I have already started planning for my upcoming classes!  Be watching for information!

Lovely As A Tree birthday card

Hello Stampers!  Well, I have to say I was totally surprised when the new Stampin' Up! catalog came out in June, and the Lovely As A Tree stamp set was still in it!  So, I decided to embrace it once again and make a swap using it for Convention.

One of the organized swaps I was in was for masculine cards.  I like to swap these cards because I find them so hard to make!  Here is what I came up with:

1-IMG_4833 I really like the burlap ribbon on this card.  I think it adds a great masculine texture!  The colors of cardstock I used were Night of Navy, Cherry Cobber, and Very Vanilla.  I used Night of Navy ink on the background piece and Early Espresso for the tree and sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!

Age Awareness birthday card

Hello Stampers!  Here is another swap card that I made for one of the organized swaps that I was in at Convention.  I love the Age Awareness stamp set!

IMG_4835 The chevrons are from the Work of Art stamp set.  And of course I used my two favorite colors together, Blackberry Bliss and Tangelo Twist!

A helpful tip when using the Age Awareness stamp set, When using both the happy and birthday stamps, put them together on the same block.  Stamp them on scratch paper to make sure both words are straight, then you are set and you don't have to line them up every time you make a card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sprinkles of Life swap

Hello Stampers!  Would you like to see one of the swaps that I made for Convention this year?  I got into several organized swaps.  I tend to like them the best because I have a set time and place to meet up with the group and we swap all together and we are done!  So easy!

1-IMG_4834 This card uses the new 2015 - 2017 In Colors which I love!  It also uses the Sprinkles of Life stamp set, which is the Ronald McDonald stamp set this year.  How fantastic is it that we get to purchase such a fun stamp set and for each set purchased, $3 is donated to this great charity?

What do you think of this card?  I made 45 of these swaps!

I punched out several different sized circles and adhered them on my Whisper White background.  I then ran this through the Big Shot Die Cut Machine using the large polka dot embossing folder.  It gives such a great look!
